Mission

The objective of this work is to investigate the feasibility of creating new career pathways for residents of the Mon Valley of Pennsylvania, using immersive technologies to increase access to performance-based training for science and technology focused (STF) production jobs. Immersive technologies have proved themselves to be powerful tools for training tomorrow’s workforce.

Immersive Support

For researchers, faculty, or staff interested in working with the Center for Immersive Experience (CIE), we are considered a university service and provide research and development support for immersive technology projects. Projects can range from developing virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) applications or experiences, access to VR/AR/MR hardware, digital twins, creating 3D models, etc.
